Home of The Brave was an impressive winner yesterday in Newmarket in the Listed European Free over 1400m. The Hugo Palmer trained colt led from start to finish beating home Tupi and Faydhan; one of the hot favourites for next month’s 2000 Guineas. It was the 2nd win of the talented 3yo colts career who has now started 4 times for 2 wins, 1 second and 1 third.
Home Of The Brave was purchased by Justin Bahen and Troy Corstens at the Arqana 2013 yearling sale in Deauville for €80,000 from the draft of Anna & Etienne’s Coulonces Consignment. He is owned by a group of Australian investors including David Moodie, Michael Ramsden, Peter Raftopoulos and Ashley Hardwick.
In winning this race Home Of The Brave becomes the 4th Stakes-Winner for Australian based sire Starspangledbanner who stands at Rosemont Stud in Victoria. Starspangledbanner who is on fire in Europe, has had a sensational start to his stallion career and is also the sire of Group 1 winner The Wow Signal, Group 2 winner Anthem Alexander and Group 3 winner Of The Brave.
Not only is Deauville a gorgeous place to visit but the Arqana August Yearling Sale is a fantastic place to purchase quality bloodstock and a great opportunity to invest in European Bloodlines for Australian Breeders and owners. Home Of The Brave has a bright future ahead of him and we look forward to following his racing career with great interest.
