Belmont Bloodstocks Ultimate Success

By June 5, 2014General

Resuming from a spell, gelding Ultimate Success (Blackfriars) was a convincing winner at Northam on the 2nd of June for trainer Grant Williams, the fifth win of the gelding’s career so far. Having taken some time to mature the well bred gelding has developed into a threatening prospect for future rivals and looks set to be a good investment for owner Bob Peters of Western Australia. Belmont Bloodstock purchased Ultimate Success for Bob Peters at the 2010 Perth Yearling Sale for $180,000 one of the top prices that year. Ultimate Success is a half-brother to talented racehorse and multiple Group 1 winner Scenic Shot (Scenic) and is by champion Western Australian stallion Blackfriars who stands at Scenic Lodge.

Belmont Bloodstock has a very strong connection with this pedigree having purchased dam Sweepshot for Mungrup Stud in 2007 for $80,000 from Robert and Ann Andersons Anita Vale Stud. At the time Sweepshot was in foal to Blackfriars the resulting progeny being Ultimate Success. A $180,000 yearling sale price was a great return for Mungrup Stud and their investment. Sadly for Mungrup Stud Sweepshot died the following year.
