Belmont Bloodstock continued an amazing run of success stories regarding broodmares Damon has purchased with a winning double at Flemington on Derby Day.
In the opening race of the day, The Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes, the Bart Cummings trained Lunar Rise won impressively. Lunar Rise is by Starcraft and from Spirited Dancer. Spirited Dancer is a daughter of the outstanding broodmare sire Sadler’s Wells and was purchased by Belmont Bloodstock at the Tattersall’s Breeding Stock Sale in 2005.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Belmont Bloodstock also purchased the dam of the Myer Classic winner. Appearance (Commands) was brilliant in winning the Group 1 Myer Classic over a very talented field. Appearance is from the Grand Lodge mare Disguise. Belmont Bloodstock negotiated a private sale of Disguise earlier this year. At the time of sale Disguise was in foal to Domesday and had a filly at foot by Commands. The Commands filly is a full sister to Appearance and will be sold at The Magic Millions Premier Sale in January. Disguise is due to foal to Domesday any day now. Adding to the sucess of the purchase of Disguise, she also had another stakes winner in Mascareri shortly after she was purchased. What a great result for the new owners to be in possession of the mare who is now a dual sates producer with a group 1 winner and also they have the yearling full sister to Appearance who will no doubt be extremely popular when she goes to the Gold Coast sale.
What a great result for the NSW based client to now be in the possession of a Group 1 producing mare and the added bonus of her yearling full sister.
