WA Heytesbury Stud’s Gr2-winning freshman stallion Saxon (Danehill-Jeanetta Cochrane, by Sadler’s Wells) recorded his 5th 1st-crop metropolitan winner when 2YO filly Stacks On (Saxon-Zany Lady, by Zeditave) scored over 1000m at Belmont Park in Perth for trainer Lou Luciani.
The win took Saxon (standing in 2011 at Heytesbury for $5,500) to equal-3rd on the list of Australian 1st Season Sires by individual 2YO winners & confirmed his position as leading 1st-crop sire in WA by individual 2YO winners.
Belmont Bloodstock Agency and Adrian Hancock negotiated the deal to get Saxon to Heytsbury Stud, which now appears to be paying dividends.
Saxon’s others winners are Saxon Coast, Saxabelle, Valley Girl and Red Hot Sax, the latter two of which are Group and Listed placed respectively.
