Saint Belle salutes at Horsham

By October 18, 2011General

Belmont Bloodstock Agency can lay claim to yet another winner this week after Saint  Belle (God’s Own x Moonah Bells) débuted with an impressive 3 length win at  Horsham on Sunday (16 October).

Belmont Bloodstock purchased the filly at the 2010 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale for  $30,000 for Peter & Jo Maher, avid racing fans with success both in Australia and overseas.  Their success in France  includes winners Tucuman, Red Barn and Valentine Waltz who won the the French Thousand Guineas.  Closer to home Peter and Jo have had success in Singapore with The Comedian.  The Mahers have shared their love of racing  by including friends Terri Farrell and Wendy Prentis into the ownership of  Saint Belle, no doubt giving them much excitement to have a winner with their  first runner.

The filly was bred by the Liston family at Three Bridges Thoroughbreds in Maldon and was the first foal of Moonah Bells who is the half sister to Group 1  Mackinnon Stakes winner La Bella Dama, the dam of La Rocket.

Saint Belle won a trial at Cranbourne before being perfectly placed for a kill by  trainer of the moment Peter Moody, and was ridden perfectly by stable jockey  Linda Meech.
