Bouzy Rouge sounds like a good joke name for a pub, but it is a French red wine. This Richmond pub is well worth a visit. It’s much more than a pub. Bouzy Rouge has an adjoining bar that is great to have a drink at or even eat at the bar.
The dining room is eclectic with cooking pots on one wall and extravagent chandeliers.
The food is Spanish/Portugese influence. The entrees come in tapas style and are delicious. Fried white bait, red peppers with goats chees and mussels in a tomato chilli broth, saganaki or king prawns with garlic and chilli.
Main courses range from salads to steaks. They do a delicious paella (much better than you get in Spain). It is an interesting big menu and very reasonably priced with a great winelist. Casual, fun, busy and worth a go, I really enjoyed it.
