Brilliant mare BEL MER capped off a magic day in Adelaide for trainer Mick Price by showing her rivals a clean pair of heels in the Group 1 SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m).
BEL MER was a $110,000 yearling purchased by Belmont Bloodtock Agency at the 2006 Magic Millions sale.
Congratulations go to her owners Vinery Stud (Mgr Peter Orton), Newstead No 2 Syndicate, Echo Beach Bloodstock (Mgr Alan Green), Grant Perry, Neil Werrett, Brian Singer, B Kruger, B Rudd and C Madden.
BEL MER has now won 4 races all in blacktype events and earned her owners nearly $600,000 in prizemoney but more importantly she would be worth many more times that amount as a broodmare. She has also been placed on 5 occasions in blacktype events including a great 2nd in the VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes to the Group One champion Weekend Hussler.
BEL MER becomes the first Group One winner for her sire the Eliza Park based BEL ESPRIT and congratulations also go to her breeder Mrs. A Arnott (NSW).
BEL MER is out of the speedy stakeswinner DROP ANCHOR a daughter of Melbourne Cup winner AT TALAQ.
