Hawkesbury Gold Cup meeting on Thursday 6th November saw the impressive debut win of BROADARROW BABE (Royal Academy – Pheroz Fantasy). Belmont Bloodstock Agency purchased BROADARROW BABE as a yearling at the Australian Easter Sale for $160,000 on behalf of Mr Ron Sayers of Yarradale Stud in Western Australia. Gabbedy quotes ” I liked the look of her, she was a lovely moving filly with a great attitude”.
The win came after the filly had won her only barrier trial at Rosehill. Trained by the great Hawkes family, she was able to salute at cherry odds of $9. She looks destined to have a bright and successful career.
BROADARROW BABE has great prospects for her future as she is a half sister to the GROUP 3 Standish Hcp winner ‘SUPER IMPRESSIVE’ (by Zabeel) winner of 11 races, placed on 14 occasions including GROUP 2 Lexus Classic finishing 2nd to FASTNET ROCK, 2nd GROUP 1 Railway Stakes, 3rd GROUP 1 Newmarket Hcp, 2nd GROUP 2 QTC Cup which saw him earn $799,306 and also Stakes winner ‘UNROCEL SAINT’.
