In-form filly Miss Gai Flyer added another stakes win to her CV when taking out last Friday nights inaugural running of the Typhoon Tracy Stakes (1200m) for 3 year-old fillies.
The Peter Moody trained filly had to dig deep to overhaul $2.80 favourite Obsequious, and did so in a most thrilling finish by the barest of margins. How fitting it was for the stable to win the race named after its champion mare.
A $250,000 Easter yearling purchase by Belmont Bloodstock, Miss Gai Flyer will next step out at Group 2 level in either Saturdays Kewney Stakes (1400m) at Flemington or in the Yallambee Classic
(1200m) at Morphettville on Monday week.
Miss Gai Flyer has now amassed over a quarter-of-a-million dollars in prizemoney and her value as a broodmare is ever growing. Her owner Gary Pfieler recently rejected a substantial offer on her.
