TakenjaTAKENJA a stakes placed daughter of champion stallion Dubawi was an impressive winner at her Australian debut at Sandown on Wednesday afternoon.

Selected and purchased at the 2014 ARQANA December Breeding Stock Sale by Melbourne based Belmont Bloodstock Agency for 70,000 Euros, TAKENJA ticked all the boxes being an exceptional type with a classic black type German pedigree along with the upside of being able to race on.

Belmont Bloodstock purchased TAKENJA for Mark Rowsthorn’s innovative Victorian based breeding operation Woodside Park with the vision of racing her for a year in Australia before she is sent to one of their exciting young stallions in  Zoustar or Rich Enuff.

The Sandown victory was only TAKENJA’s firth career start having had 4 starts at the time of purchase for 2 wins in Germany, as well as a stakes placing & a fourth at Longchamp.  Her victory impressed trainer Mick Price and he is confident she is destined for bigger things and thinks we will see the best of her in the Autumn, planning to keep her spring preparation short.
