Western Australian Double Victory for Belmont Bloodstock

By January 25, 2011February 27th, 2011General

Belmont Bloodstock Agency has had a successful week in Western Australia with two of their purchases winning throughout the week.

The Simon Miller trained Single Spice showed exciting gate speed and a willing turn of foot when comfortably taking out the Westspeed 2yo Plate at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 23rd October. Belmont Bloodstock Agency astutely purchased the filly as a weanling for $20,000 and within in two starts she has already earnt prizemoney of $34,000.
The Not A Single Doubt filly out of Zaffron Gal, bounded out of the gates and went straight to the front, settling in front of Internationalist who was well fancied in the betting. Single Spice was the horse to be on; especially given she had beaten the ultra impressive first up winner Absolute Cracker in her most recent trial. The filly was eased down on the line by rider Peter Knuckey and scored with a leg in the air.

Just three days prior on the 20th October, a 3yo gelding by Galileo out of Metal Of Honor called View The Stars broke through for his maiden victory at Ascot when defeating fellow maiden galloper Braveet in the Westspeed 3YO Handicap (1400m). Purchased privately as a yearling for $100,000 by Belmont Bloodstock Agency, View The Stars is showing great promise as he has been placed 2 out his only 4 starts.
The Paul Jordan trained gelding was having his second outing back from a spell on Wednesday, following his first up performance behind Playing God, which is proving to be a top form reference.
View The Stars began well for rider Brad Parnham on Wednesday, who elected to send him forward and race outside of the well supported Pintada Prince.
View The Stars appeared in plenty of trouble once the sprint went on, but showing the signs of a promising stayer for the future, he picked himself up off the canvas and recorded a super tough win.
The three-year-old galloper looks destined for bigger things after Wednesday’s victory, with trainer Paul Jordan indicating the WA Guineas and WATC-Derby firmly on the radar.
“He’s a nice, very nice horse. We will head towards the WA Guineas from here and see how he measures up.” Winning trainer Paul Jordan said following the win.
Belmont Bloodstock Agency wishes all connections of both View The Stars and Single Spice the very best.
