Last Thursday’s meeting at Northam (WA) gave freshman sire Due Sasso his second winner for the season and also started what was to be a successful run of winners for trainer Stan Bates.
A son of Mungrup Stud’s Group 3 winner Due Sasso (Scenic), So You Say started a $2.60 favourite and scored by 3/4 of a length in the maiden event ran over 1100m.
You Say So (Due Sasso – True Accolade) was purchased for $15,000 by Belmont Bloodstock from the Geisel Park draft at the 2010 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
The win was the beginning of a hot streak for trainer Stan Bates, who enjoyed a stakes double at Belmont on Saturday with Miss Tipsy Topsy (Spinning World) and All Friared up (Blackfriars) both saluting for the stable.
